Earth / K.K. Null (Also known as Dexamyl / Andromeda) is a split release between the American drone band Earth and the Japanese noise musician K.K. Null. Both songs presented on the original 12" release would be live recordings. Earth's track "Dexamyl" (Named for a drug patented in 1950 that was widely abused and no longer in production)[1] would be recorded at The Crocodile Cafe in Seattle circa February 2003. K.K. Null's track, "Andromeda", would be recorded at Binspark in Tokyo circa September 2003.
The split would be initially released in November 2003 to coincide with a European tour featuring both bands, limited to 330 copies on Blue Marble and Pink Marble Vinyl.[2][3] On 6 September 2005 Earth / K.K. Null would be reissued on 6 September 2005 via Important Records, featuring a bonus collaboration between both acts.[4]
