Dutch Doom Days is a doom/stoner rock festival hosted in The Netherlands, specifically the Rotterdam region. The festival is hosted at Poppodium Baroeg and typically takes place over two days.
It was started as a one day event called Dutch Doom Day in 2002, and by the fourth edition it became multi-day. Since then it has most often been two days but some editions have taken place over three days.
The origin of the festival was explained by the founder, Officium Triste vocalist Pim Blankenstein. "The founding of Dutch Doom Day was pretty much out of self-interest, at the time I was organising a lot of my own gigs and because of that I had a lot of contacts with foreign bands. Then I got the opportunity to bring Whispering Forest from Estonia to The Netherlands, so I started looking for a location and since I have been a long-time volunteer for Baroeg I naturally ended up there."
