Double Quartet Serie #1 is a split collaboration album featuring the California Desert Rock band Fatso Jetson and the French experimental group Hifiklub. The album is a conceptual project curated by the Italian label Subsound Records, inspired by Ornette Coleman's Quartet vs. Quartet album. Notably Hifiklub performs on the left channel while Fatso Jetson performs on the right. Also of note is in regards to Fatso Jetson's lineup as it's one of the band's only releases to not feature longtime bassist Larry Lalli and rather Mario playing bass. Also of note is the first appearance of Gary Arce on a Fatso Jetson release since 1999's Flames For All.
