Dog Days is the first EP by the California doom metal band Goatsnake. Mostly recorded in the Summer of 1999, it would be released in March 2000 via Southern Lord Records, the fifth overall release by the label.[1] All of the songs would be recorded and mixed in the Summer of 1999 except for "Man of Light" which was recorded and mixed in 1997 and originally released in 1997 along with the exclusive b-side "Knucklebuster". Notably Nick Raskulinecz would engineer and mix "The Orphan" and "Raw Curtains", the latter song appearing on Goatsnake / Burning Witch.

Dog Days would be released initially as a CD in North America and Europe, along with a Picture Disc edition limited to 1000 copies. The record comes in a PVC sleeve with a gold sticker affixed to the front cover and a barcode sticker affixed to the back. Along with featuring a cover of "Heartbreaker" by Free, the bonus track would be a cover of "Who Are You?" by Black Sabbath. A "final pressing" CD issue would be composed in 2002 as a digipak, featuring the bonus track.

All six songs (Along with Man of Light b-side "Knucklebuster") would be compiled on I + Dog Days in 2004.
