Divine Propaganda is the debut studio album by The Hidden Hand. Recorded by Bruce Falkinburg not long after the band's formation, it would be released by Exile on Mainstream on 20 June 2003 and MeteorCity Records on 26 August 2003.[1] A vinyl edition would be released by Beard of Stars Records the next year. The album's themes draw heavily from conspiracy theories, the writings of Greg Palast and David Icke and criticism of evangelical Christianity and George W. Bush.[2] Divine Propaganda also notably listed several conspiracy books the band personally recommended.
Divine Propaganda garnered critical praise from several publications at the time of release. AllMusic and Metal Academy would both award for stars out of five[3][4] while other publications garnered similar critical praise.[5][6][7][8]
The eye picture artwork was made by Maurits Cornelis Escher, a Dutch graphic artist (17 June 1898 - 27 March 1972).
