Dense Fog (stylized as dense fog) is the debut album by the Japanese doom metal band Funeral Moth. It was released on February 22, 2014.
The last guitar solo on "Moumoku" is provided by Mournful Congregation guitarist Justin Hartwig while the last lead guitar parts on the same song were recorded by Damon Good.
Background
The album contains 4 songs that were written from 2007 ("Behind the Closed Door") to 2010.
According to an interview with Throne Records, “when [the band] wrote these songs, there weren’t any certain concepts. There were just 4 individual songs. [...] the album title hadn’t been fixed until [they] finished the recording. [They] eventually took the album title from the title of the short instrumental song "Noumu". When [they] heard all songs after [they] finished the mix, [they] thought this title really represented [their] music, so [they] chose this for [the] album title”.
Tomohiro's guitar was recorded by Tomohiro Kanjya at SH8 from August to October 2013. The rest of the instruments and vocals was recorded by Makoto Fujishima at Studio Celephäis from April to November 2013.
