Houses of the Unholy (2009) |
Dennis Nilsen is the fourth EP by the Japanese doom metal band Church of Misery. Notably it would be among the first studio recordings to feature Australian guitarist Tom Sutton. Along with two original songs, the EP would feature a cover of "Hurricane" by Pentagram and "Hymn of The Satanic Empire", a fifteen-minute jam featuring samples of famed Satanist Anton Szandor Lavey. All four songs would be recorded and mixed at Air Shinjuku Studio on 5/3 & 6/3 (recording) 6/17 (mixing), except "Hymn..." on 6/19/2006.
Dennis Nilsen would be limited to 525 copies in a one-time pressing with Finnish label Kult of Nihilow, the band's second release with the label. "Born To Raise Hell" would be re-recorded for the band's 2009 album Houses of the Unholy while "Cranley Gardens" would be re-recorded for the 2013 studio album Thy Kingdom Scum.
