History

Deltanaut are a psychedelic / stoner / progressive rock band formed in 2014 by members of Regulus and Santiago Kings. Originally planned as a studio-only project, they began playing live shortly after their first jams.

In 2016 they began recording their debut album. Originally planned as a 3 track EP, this was expanded as new songs were completed. Shortly after beginning the recording process, original drummer Joe Milburn left to focus on Regulus. Over the next two years Deltanaut continued to record sporadically and gig with guest drummers, until they were joined by Chris Daniels. Deltanaut released Part I on the 29th of June 2018 with the help of Mains Spike Music.

Shortly after the release of Part I Chris Daniels also left Deltanaut and since then they have been playing shows with Gareth Hodges of Ritual King. In the autumn of 2019 they announced they would be releasing a 7 inch vinyl entitled Movements of the Blues Nebula in 2020 under the Honey Bee Blues Club label.

Reviews

“…They took us on a journey which didn’t lack of sound explosions, technical guitar solos, and a solid rhythmic session with strong drum hits punctuating the basslines.” – Review from Kozfest 2017

"I was immediately struck by how ambitious, complex and finely textured the album is, with constant rhythm changes and some truly beautiful guitar parts."  - Down the Front Media

“The band are more than just on form; they adroitly combine experiences from their respective backgrounds to form an inexplicably tight hybrid unit.” - Metallum Sub Terra

"Beautiful, brittle, bruising and brilliant are all descriptions you  could throw at "Part 1" and each one has its place somewhere on this sprawling and quite wonderful release." - Desert Psychlist
