Dejection, Unclean is a compilation by Asbestosdeath, the band that served as a precursor to Sleep. Released in 2007 by Southern Lord Records, this CD and 10" compiles both of the band's 7" releases, their only studio output.

Three of the songs would be re-recorded for Sleep's debut album Volume One.

Background[]

Tracks 1+2 was recorded April 29th, 1990 and previously released on vinyl as Dejection EP on Profane Existence (EXIST 007) in 1990 in a limited edition of 2000 copies. Tracks 3+4 previously (self-)published in 1989 or 1990 on vinyl as Unclean on Asbestos Records. (AR00100).

In 2007, Southern Lord announced they were releasing the band's 7" output as a CD and limited 10" in June that year.
