Damnweevil was a sludge/doom band from Oakland, California, active between 2004 and 2009. Adopting a sound similar to early High on Fire and Mastodon this quartet put out two studio albums in their tenure.
History[]
Damnweevil formed in Oakland sometime in 2004 and by 2006 had self-released their first album Human Auditory Torture Experiment. The band had already performed shows in California alongside the likes of Bottom and The Glasspack, along with appearing at the final edition of Emissions from the Monolith. The band would tour in 2008 and eventually release It's Always Darkest Before It Goes Pitch Black in 2009 before calling it quits at the end of that year.
