Candlemass - Live (Or often known simply as Live) is the first live album by Candlemass. Recorded in 1990 at Fryshuset, Live would be released to praise at the time. A seminal live performance for the band, the Live at Fryshuset performance has been released in other media by the band in the years since it's original 1990 release.
It would be the last release to feature Messiah Marcolin on vocals until his return in 2002 which led to subsequent live releases and the 2005 album Candlemass.
Background[]
While the band was touring behind Tales of Creation, Candlemass would record a live performance on 6 June 1990 at Arenan Fryshuset in Stockholm, performing fifteen songs in all. Notably there would be issues with the recording tapes, leading to the band performing "Dark Reflections" twice and omitting "Bearer of Pain" from the live album.[1] A mixing desk recording of "Bearer of Pain" would surface and appear on the 2008 Peaceville reissue.
Live would be initially released on 6 August 1990, as a CD with twelve tracks and as a LP with fourteen tracks.[2] Live would see re-issues over the years on various labels, notably a 2008 re-issue via Peaceville Records which included the band's 1988 performance of Dynamo Open Air, the LP exclusive "Crystal Ball" and the mixing desk recording of "Bearer of Pain" as a bonus disc.

In 2002 Escapi music would release a double DVD set entitled Documents of Doom, featuring a live video of thirteen songs from the Fryshuset performance, along with the Documentary of Doom, chronicling the history of the band in performances from their first gig in 1987 to their initial reunion gigs in 2002.
