Boss Keloid are a technical sludge, stoner, prog and doom band. They were formed during 2010 in Wigan, England.

Boss Keloid was formed in 2010 in Wigan, England by Paul Swarbrick and Alex Hurst. The band has seen various line-up changes since their formation and currently consists of Paul Swarbrick (guitar), Alex Hurst (vocals), Stephen Arands (drums) and Adam Swarbrick (bass). The band play a mix of technical sludge, stoner, prog and doom.

In early 2011, the band released a demo EP titled 'Angular Beef Lesson'. This was followed up in 2013 with the band's first full-length album titled 'The Calming Influence of Teeth'. The album was produced at Alien Sound Studio in Latham, UK with engineer Mark Wainwright. The album was critically very well received and the track 'Locking Stumps' featured on Metal Hammer magazine's '15 Anthems That Owned 2014' CD[1] alongside Mastodon, Opeth and Machine Head. 2014 also saw the band earn slots supporting Soulfly and Raging Speedhorn.

The band entered Skyhammer Studios in August 2015 to record their second full-length album titled 'Herb Your Enthusiasm' with Chris Fielding (Conan, Electric Wizard, Napalm Death, Taint) on production duties. The album is due for release on 8th April 2016.

Metal Mouth[3] 9/10
The slumbering sludge colossus of Wigan.
— Coop, Metal Mouth[3]
They’ve produced a record that is surely going to be one of the albums of the year for any fan of the doom or sludge genres
— Adam Robertshaw, Manchester Rocks
Psychadelic Sludge of the highest order
— Dom Lawson - Metal Hammer
Boss Keloid have mastered the riff on their debut full-length.
— Robert Gluck, The Aquarian[4]
The Calming Influence of Teeth in 2013 was their debut full length that I found was akin to what made Mastodon so great in the past. The delivery of Herb Your Enthusiasm in 2016 is well worth the wait
— Nick Palmisano, Outlaws Of The Sun
Herb Your Enthusiasm is, whisper it, a very early contender for album of the year
— Graeme Blackwell, Skin Back Alley
“Herb Your Enthusiasm” is a powerfully elegant dirge. It’s masterfully produced with guitar tones that have their own suffocating gravitational pull, a comatose rhythm section that rumbles like the uneasy shifting of tectonic plates and Alex Hurst’s air raid siren howls all coming together to sound simply imperious. There’s an elevation to it, an otherworldliness and a freshness that wrestles with the aesthetics of the influences that shape their wide open sound that reeks of individualism. And it is upon that identity that they are forging their way to becoming something far greater than just another sludge band. Stand up. Pay attention. Boss Keloid are the pinnacle of the sludge movement right now.
— Phil Weller, The Sludgelord
Boss Keloid have truly found their own groove. And what a groove that is. Anyone who appreciates technically demanding music, relentless riff pressure and original artistic vision and likes to be clobbered forcefully musically, needs this.
— Hendrik Lukas, Musik Reviews (translated from German)[2]
The album is expertly played and produced by all involved. It showcases another outstanding band from the UK Sludge Metal scene though Boss Keloid could be the craziest the UK has to offer.
— The Sludgelord[5]
