Bongtower are a Psychedelic Doom Metal band based out of Stavropol, Russia. Forming in 2018, this quartet (formerly quintet) draws themes of songs about our universe, where there have always been interesting individuals with alternative thinking about people with a difficult ideology starting with inquisitors continuing scientists and ending with astronauts. Powerful, viscous and hypnotic riffs immerse you in history from occult rituals to deep space.

To date the band has released two studio albums and have largely performed in their native Russia.

History[]

Bongtower would form in the Spring of 2018,[1] initially as a quintet the band performed a handful of shows in Russia before quickly releasing a single in Mirage circa 23 October 2018. With plans to work on a debut album. Recording as a duo[2] with Igor Rzaev and finding a vocalist in Alexander Zadorozhny, Altered States would see release circa 2 February 2019, notably gaining buzz through a Quietus article entitled "New Weird Russia".[3]

With some lineup changes and a live album released in Live at Les Villa (Released 17 July 2019, recorded 25 May 2019) work would begin on a follow-up, recording at Revolvers Studio and drawing heavily from a space theme, even working in a cover of "Space Oddity" by David Bowie. Oscillator would see release on 12 April 2020 and with YouTube channels such as 666MrDoom, Rob Hammer and Weedian, the band would gain worldwide positive reception from several publications such as Stoner King,[4] Astral Noize UK[5] and Your Last Rites[6] just to name a few.
