Been Obscene were a stoner/psych/alternative band from Salzburg, Austria.
History[]
Been Obscene were founded in 2005 when the members had all got to know each other in school and attended a Queens of the Stone Age concert together, leading to further chatting and the idea of starting a band together. The band would play gigs around Austria and record material in 2007 though those recordings would not be released. Soon after the band would record and write more stuff and eventually sign to Elektrohasch Schallplatten for their debut album The Magic Table Dance, released in 2010.The band would perform at Duna Jam along with two tours of Europe the following year in support of their second album Night O'Mine.[1]
Further touring in 2012 happened, sharing the stage with the likes of Siena Root and The Atomic Bitchwax to name a few.[2] In 2013 the band would embark on their only tour of North America (With Ape Machine and Borracho).[3] Due to issues kept private between the band members Been Obscene chose to play a 90-minute acoustic concert on 30 December 2013, ultimately proving to be their final performance. This show, entitled Unplugged, would be released the next year on Elektrohasch Schallplatten.[4]
