Ayahuasca Dark Trip is a collaborative musical project founded circa November 2010. The project would be founded by Brayan Buckt (El Hijo de la Aurora, Conan) who was based out of Peru, alongside Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Pedro Ivo Araújo, Greek musician Sifis Karadakis, Indrayudh Shome (Molten Lava Death Massage, Queen Elephantine) and all three members of the Dutch psychedelic band Cosmic Nod. Their music is based in psychedelic and doom metal, inspired by sacred rituals and ancient ceremonies.
The band would release their first album Mind Journey in late 2010, with a vinyl edition to follow in 2012. A second studio album entitled The Unknown Trip At The Top Of The Mountain would see release in the Spring of 2011. The project would largely go dormant with all of the members keeping busy with their own respective bands.
In 2016, work would begin on a third record and the band would tour for the first time through Europe in early 2017.[1][2] Ayahuasca Dark Trip would release their third album Upaya on 14 May 2017. The band would note that their original drummer Robin Van Rooij had died a week prior to the album's release on 7 May, aged 27.[3]
