Ample Fire Within is the only studio album by collaborative drone/jazz fusion project Ascend.

Background

Work began on the project as far back as late 2006 when Greg Anderson and Gentry Densley expressed interest in doing a collaborative project together. The Los Angeles tracks recorded May 2007, Salt Lake City tracks recorded July 2007, Seattle tracks recorded Dec. 2006 + Oct. 2007 + Jan. 2008. Album mixed and mastered Jan. 2008. In the spring of 2008 the album was officially announced with a May release date.

Ample Fire Within was released on 27 May 2008 to positive reviews. A vinyl edition would see release two years later with two bonus tracks.
