Alchemy Records was a short-lived label based out of San Francisco, California. Founded in 1985 by musicians Mark Deutrom and Victor Hayden (The latter being a psychedelic musician and cousin of Captain Beefheart), Alchemy Records largely worked with punk and thrash bands but also released early works of Melvins, Neurosis and Virulence, whom would later become Fu Manchu.
The label's first release would be Circus of Chaos by Clown Alley, a band Deutrom was in with Lori Black. The label would ultimately close in 1989.[1]
