Biography via AllMusic[]

Once his previous band, New Jersey rockers Halfway to Gone, became all the way gone (having officially announced their breakup), singer and harmonica player Lee Stuart began looking for his next musical endeavor, soon deciding to pair up with longtime friend and Monster Magnet/Raging Slab drummer Bob Pantella to form A Thousand Knives of Fire. Calling on some other buddies from the thriving local underground rock scene, guitarist Paul Wiegand, bassist Taj Briggles, and erstwhile Halfway to Gone partner Dan Golin as a second drummer, they began performing live and working on material for an eventual LP. This duly came to be in 2008, when A Thousand Knives of Fire unleashed their Southern flavored, hard rocking debut, The Last Train to Scornsville, through Small Stone Records. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide[1]
