A Keg Full of Dynamite is the first official live album by Pentagram, released by the Italian label Black Widow Records in 2003. It was recorded at The Keg on 27 February 1978.[1] Vocalist Bobby Liebling stated that this was the "first authorized representation of Pentagram during what has come to be known as the High Voltage Era". The final two tracks, "When the Screams Come" and "Livin' in a Ram's Head," were taken from the original test pressing 7" issued on High Voltage Records in 1979. Notably, the cover features the "High Voltage" label in the corner.
Reviews of the release are somewhat scarce but was generally praised by AllMusic[2] and Cosmic Lava.[3]
Liner Notes[]
"This recording is the first authorised representation of Pentagram during what has come to be known as the High Voltage Era being that there are so few recordings of any quality at all we chose this selection for its variety and to present for the first time an official recording a Pentagram at its strength displaying the band at one of the short lived dual guitar powerhalf and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did when recorded. PLEASE PLAY AT EAR BLEEDING VOLUME FOR BEST RESULT." --Bobby Liebling
"This album is dedicated to the loving memory of Randy Palmer, guitarist but must of all dear friend, and also to the memory of Cheri Bacon....and of course to Blue Cheer."
